Hey I'm Charley and in March 2018 - I set up Mummy Meet Up Kent.
I had spoken to a few mums through this new app called Mush, like tinder; but for mums to help find other local mums for playdates. About 15 of us ended up on a WhatsApp group together; whilst there was every intention to meet up nothing ever happened. So one week I said look shall I just arrange a couple of meet ups for next week, in a few different areas and I'll just go to each one and hope to see some of you there, to which I did, and I met some fabulous other mums at each one. Then at the end of that week I was asked 'So Charley what's on next week?', So again I arranged another few meet ups for following week, more people had started to hear about meet ups happening, and started getting in touch. So it was then I decided the easiest thing would probably be to start a private group on Facebook - and over 3 years later I'm still making a schedule each week. We have new members joining our Facebook group daily, new faces at meet ups every week, and as well as the weekly meet ups, I have also been putting on special events and seasonal parties.
MMUK (Mummy Meet Up Kent) is non profit, and is purely run on dedication, passion, the desire to organise, plan & create, but mostly because I love people, and if I can make a difference whilst doing something that makes me happy and brings me joy then why wouldn't I?

MMUK has up and over 1,400 local mummy members, and joining is simple & free.
If your a mum to any little ones aged 0-10, whether your a full time mum, on maternity leave for 10 months, working part time, only around on set days, or only about during the half terms - we'd love to have you.
We cover the following districts; Sevenoaks, Tonbridge & Malling, Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, Gravesend & Dartford.

Once you have been accepted you will have access to all of our meet ups, special events, seasonal parties plus our posts, which are great way interact with members and a way to get to know other mums in the group.
On a weekend the schedule poster for the following week is put up for all to see, we always welcome members to post in the comments below what they are planning to attend. Some meet ups are organised in advance, including our special events and parties, these can be easily found by visiting our 'Events' section on our Facebook group, and this is where you will find full information for every meet up happening.
The afternoon before a meet a post from admin will go out reminding everyone of the upcoming meet and asking who is planning to attend. It is here (and on the event section for that meet) that then all updates for that meet will be posted from admin, helping you to find the group once you have arrived. There is also a contact number you can call, text or WhatsApp should you need to.
In July 2019 I was interviewed by a journalist called Lucy Banwell on behalf of Boots Magazine, because I had very kindly been nominated by a member for the 'Wellness Warrior' category sponsored by Boots, for the 2019 Women of the Year Awards. To my absolute amazement I had been shortlisted, and now Lucy needed to interview me for my entry to be put in front of the judging panel for the final round. This is where I'd love to say I won, but honestly if you look into the amazing women that I was up against - to of even been considered and get to where I did means so much, and has truly given me that push to take MMUK up a notch for 2020!
