Hello, I’m Charley founder of Mummy Meet Up Kent . At the end of 2019 I became the Cradle Charity ambassador for The Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury, with the support of Mummy Meet-up Kent.

Cradle, is a national charity (‪1190761‬) which provides early pregnancy loss support, when women are admitted into hospital via the NHS Gynae Wards, EPAUs (Early Pregnancy Assessment Units), A&E, and any other department responsible for the care of parents experiencing early loss. Now when these women are cared for at The Tunbridge Wells hospital they will receive a Cradle comfort bag. Often, they will wake up to this bag after undergoing surgery, sometimes having been brought into hospital via ambulance, with nothing but the things they had on their person. Whilst these bags won’t take away the pain they feel as they come to terms with the loss of their baby, but it’s a way to show that people care; that every pregnancy matters, knowing that whether a pregnancy has lasted for days, weeks or months.

The comfort bag includes a letter of support from Cradles’ founder Louise which includes ongoing online support groups and funded counselling, but also body wash, shampoo, roll on deodorant, toothbrushes and paste, a hairbrush and so much more.

Mummy Meet Up Kent “HQ” have collected, organised, filled and delivered over 80 bags in 2020, and already over 50 in 2021. However our work continues, and we need carry on this great service by delivering 10-25 filled bags every 4-6 weeks. Yes, baby loss is more common than you think, 1 in 4.

There are lots of ways in which you can help:

You can donate items via our Amazon wish lists, these items will then come straight to Mummy Meet-up Kent “HQ”

This first list includes all the key items we need for the comfort bags, all items brought via this link will be used at The Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Cradle Bag Wish List

The second list is for Cradles Dignity Appeal, to supply the appropriate wards at The Tunbridge Wells hospital at Pembury with womens full briefs and black leggings. This will be given to women who have suffered with pregnancy loss to allow ladies to maintain their dignity during their hospital stay. Cradle Dignity Appeal Wish List
